Discover Seawool

What is Seawool?

As part of our commitment to providing fashionable baby gear options that parents can feel good about, we seek out fabrics that contain predominantly upcycled and recycled materials. After carefully considering several fabric options, we chose Seawool to help add a touch of refinement to those everyday moments with your little one while supporting the authenticity of your parenting journey.

Seawool yarn was developed as part of an effort to help manage excess oyster shell waste. To create Seawool, discarded oyster shells are ground into a fine powder and combined with recycled materials and polyester. The result is a luxurious, up-cycled yarn that feels like wool.* The final knit fabric that’s featured in several of our pieces is a combination of Seawool yarn, recycled materials, and polyester.*

Benefits of Seawool

In addition to its unique construction, Seawool also provides a wide range of benefits that make it an optimal choice for premium baby gear. This fabric offers:

Luxury

With a soft and soothing texture, Seawool has a smooth, clean look that elevates the appearance of our family travel essentials.

Convenience

Less time cleaning up means more time to enjoy special moments with baby. That's why we’ve ensured that our Seawool car seat covers, stroller inserts, and bassinet soft goods are safe to machine wash and dry.

Comfort

Seawool is just as cozy and soft as merino wool but gentle on sensitive skin. It also has a low thermal conductivity level, helping to keep your baby cool in summer and warm in winter.

Durability

With a strong fabric construction made from quality materials, Seawool is designed to stand the test of time and continue to look new after washing.

Performance

With odor-resistant and moisture-wicking properties, Seawool can help maintain a clean and comfortable environment for your little one.

Safety

Seawool fabric is naturally flame retardant, meeting safety requirements without exposing your child’s skin to added FR chemicals.

Each time you place your little one into a Romer car seat, stroller, or bassinet featuring Seawool fabric, they’ll be surrounded by serene comfort and luxury.
